Traditional wisdom tells us, “an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.” In other words, while it is certainly worthwhile to try to fix a medical problem once it has been diagnosed, an even better strategy is to prevent the ailment from occurring in the first place. The best way to accomplish this is through regular physical exams for everyone in your family. The benefits of regular physical exams are numerous: |
- Monitor the “vital signs” of your body – pulse, heart rhythm, blood pressure, temperature, etc.
- Diagnose and treat minor ailments before they escalate into major problems.
- Early detection of major illnesses – early detection as been identified as on of the most important factors for successful treatment of many major illnesses (cancer, diabetes, hypertension, immune system disorders, etc.)
- Don’t just “think” you’re in good health – have it confirmed!

In addition to being an important part of maintaining good health, physical exams are required for a variety of life events:
- School enrollment – The doctors of Hermosa Medical and Diagnostic Experience have many years of experience administering school physicals
- U.S. citizenship – Hermosa is approved by the U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS) to provide physical examinations for individuals seeking U.S. citizenship.
- Employment - Many employers require a physical examination before hiring new employees
- Post-Op examinations - Nearly all surgical operations and other major medical events require regular physical examinations as part of the follow-up treatment program
